Roy Keane has signed an 18 month deal with Celtic, ending weeks of speculation about his future.The deal keeps him at Celtic Park until June 2007.
The 34-year-old Irishman ended 12-and-a-half years at Old Trafford in November, and quickly accrued a host of Premiership suitors alongside Spanish giants Real Madrid.
But, when the Madrid club's interest appeared to have waned, Celtic were quick to move in.
If rumours are to be believed Keane's deal is worth ￡40,000 a week, with Parkhead majority shareholder Dermot Desmond reported to be paying for half of it.
Keane is eligible to make his Celtic debut in the New Year's day SPL clash with Hearts.
A statement on the Hoops' official website confirmed: "Celtic are delighted to announce that Roy Keane has signed for the club. The self-confessed Celtic fan has fulfiled a long-held dream by joining the Hoops."
